and the journey still continues on.
like an old phrase, it could be applied here too
“it’s a journey, not a destination”
according to IAI schedule, there will be another kyu-test at end-of-May or early-June
yay… here’s an interesting thought about the purpose of a test
Hiroshi Kato Shihan will be visiting Jakarta again at 1st March.
ever been in a situation like this?
you’re trying hard to pay attention, memorizing all the work procedure,
remembering all the steps and terms…
but the next day, they (your boss) tell you, different from the last time
then tomorrow after that, they tell you like the first time
errr..what is (the most correct) way to do it?
frustated?
is it you not remembering correctly or is it him that giving different direction each time?
don’t get that (little) differences get in your way
instead, take all of it & get the essence,
try it again and again, then you’ll find your (own) way
there’s an old saying “emptying the cup…“
you have to (completely) empty your cup (of tea) first…
before you drink the coffee (from the same cup)
the cup = you
the tea = things you learn previously
the coffee = things you learn after that
“Learn the value of doing it 10,000 times and you’ll never go wrong..”, read it here
time goes by, so fast, there will be another kyu-test, by 10th of December 19 january 2007
what is the purpose of a test? to prove you are good? what is ‘good’ then?
to be able to throw someone? to be able to memorize all the movement or what?? what is the value of a coloured belt?
you, and only you that can tell the true meaning of the test to yourself
..so, be true to yourself
a good article about the purpose of a kyu-test, here
